As a Composer & Player :

Born in Bagdad, his talent and his passion for music and the Oud was his interest at the age of 7 with a large influence of his father Salem Abdul Karem, an influent composer Leader of the orchestra and master of the Oud. He studied music and the Oud at the conservatory of Bagdad and then continued in istanbul where he also studied music composition.
He has at the moment several solo concerts in many of the big cities of the Middle East and Europe with big success and great acclaim.He has composed several pieces for solos and also for piano duos, violin, violoncello, string quartets and symphonic orchestras.
He has his own style of music as an interpreter and as a composer. As a composer, he is very infuenced by Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and Dvorjak. Concerning the solo pieces, his influences are Paganini, Segovia and Chopin.

His Works and his Objectives :

One part of his Music career is for symphonic orchestras via modern composition which is a reflection of his very particular style.
Another part is the composition of music for the Oud who wish to continue the advancement of the Oud, starting with the eternal musician Sharif Mohi Deen Hayder, followed by Salem Abdul Karem, who works on the science and methodology of this instrument and tries to introduce it into a totally new environment in the area of scientific composition as done by the very skillful Segovia for the guitar and the genius Paganini for the Violin.
Yahya perpetuates this attempt to bring the Oud to world recognition which is in the category as other instruments of international music.
Yahya believes that man is the product of his environment and that music is a language which describes his feelings, his thoughts and his experiences in life.
He also believes in the strength of music and its unlimited influence on every aspect of the society. His music is a point between the orient and the western world; it is capable of connecting all the cultures and civilizations.

THE COMPOSER :

a musician who bridges the gap between the East and West, capable of connecting all cultures and civilizations.
